So the most recent project we’ve done in Holts is a chase scene. I actually was kinda in three different chase scenes mine of course, Stormy’s and Rosa’s. For mine I had Stormy do camera work, I was the bad guy and Alexis was the good guy. The scene opened up with me trying to get something out of someones locker but I get caught so I grab the first thing I can and start running. This particular part had a couple of nice angles. We then go upstairs and continue the chase with some nice angles up the stairs. After this we run down another hall to some doors which I have to slow down to open and this is when im caught and am thrown to the ground and Alexis gets back his stolen goods. For Rosa’s scene I just filmed which I found very fun. My part in Stormy’s scene was that of the bad guy check out her page for more info. Originally Stormy was supposed to chase me for my scene but things came up so she couldn’t run and I had to recruit Alexis. Over all (I say this a lot but its true) I enjoyed the project and would definitely like to do it again.

The latest project to come from this class was a movie. Some people that had made a movie sent all the files to Mr. Holt who then gave us this assignment which in all honesty was a bit of a pain but eh whatever. The movie was a “scary” one about a girl who was dreaming about a dude in a yellow suit with an axe killing her. Mine went fairly well until the end. I started off by bringing in each clip one at a time and renaming them so that I could do things quicker in the long run. By the time I had gotten everything done and ready to add music to and export I had about forty minutes of scratch footage this scrap footage was accidentally exported the first time that I exported and Mr. Holt wasn’t very happy. The second time I exported though it was all good and my project turned out quite well I think. This wasn’t my favorite project by any means but it wasn’t terrible. It was quite tedious going through each clip to find what I thought was the best part and cut it out surgically to make sure it still looked good. The project ended up being about a minute and forty seconds so that was cool and yeah that’s basically it for now.
-Code (TheElevatedOne) The most recent project Mr. Holt has had us do was a video story. This challenged our creativity and pushed our…well my brain at least, to the limits. It took me about 2 days to find a topic to do my story on, I did however eventually find a topic to use and bend to my will. My silent video was on “a god experiencing a day in the life of a human” originally but I quickly changed the original idea into something that suited me a bit more. It ended up being about a god appointing a mortal in charge while he attempted to live the mortals life. The mortal he appointed however ended up using her powers to attempt to destroy the world. The god then goes on a quest to find three special items that the wicked god loved to the point of giving up the most powerful position ever in order to get them back. The god finds the items and trades with the wicked god to get his seat back. During this I accidentally filmed some stuff with the green screen wrong so I had someone teach me how to fix it. What he ended up doing was making a “mask” which fixed my issues. This was overall a fun project that I learned a lot from and enjoyed quite a bit.
-Code (TheElevatedOne) So we did another PSA this time I went with the topic of malnutrition and that route. It went fairly well as I wasn’t here for a few days during it due to Stock Show in Denver on Monday and then having to go home sick on Tuesday. So as is my style I just went with the generic yet powerful white text, black background, sad music, and melancholy voiceover. All was well until I went into the audio gain and ended up changing the wrong setting so it was literally impossible to hear when it was played during class. There was also an issue with my voiceover transmogrifying itself into the music (it was the same duration so I didn’t notice anything until I went to fix the audio gain) so the issues were pretty large and I got a bit angry with myself in all honesty. At the end though everything turned out fine and it will be uploaded by the end of the school year, yes I am procrastinating this but meh. It’s a decent PSA that I enjoyed making and it didn’t turn out horrible after I fixed the entire thing. To fix it I had to bring the voiceover audio back into the Premiere file and then recut everything to match up with the words onscreen. But that’s it for this time so…….YEET.
-Code (The Elevated One) Over the past few days Mr. Holt has been having us review different things like Premiere and Audition as well as the website which is what you are currently looking at….unless you aren’t and if you aren’t you should be. But basically we’ve just been going over things that we may have forgotten. I’ve also learned a few new things like how to make a fullscreen video look like its widescreen which is neat. But yeah there’s not a whole lot to talk about since these were just review things so this one may be a bit shorter. Yeah it will be. This is the end. Bye.
-Code (The Elevated One) Over break I did a few things. For the first weekish I chilled with my family then I took a trip to Tribune. In Tribune, I stayed with my cousin and his grandparents for a week. My cousin and I both got max level in Modern Warfare 2019 and I beat the campaign as well as unlocking the gold camo for the MP5. The campaign has always been my favorite part of all the CoD games (Call of Duty) and this one was probably my favorite as it had amazing graphics a great story and some unforgettable characters as well as a very noticeable movie type of vibe to it. My favorite character was Kyle Gerrick who is a British SAS member who gets drafted into Bravo 6 after a terrorist incident in Piccadilly Circus, London where he meets Captain Price who saves him from death as an Al Qatala member runs up to him while he isn’t paying attention as he is attempting to enter a building with debris in front of the door. Enough of that however as that’s not what this is about, but I do recommend playing the game for yourself. I also got to see one of my friends that I hadn’t seen in like 3 years. I also watched the new Jumanji movie which was mediocre at best. But yeah that’s basically what I did over break so yeah bye.
-Code (The Elevated One) Recently we had to do a PSA. I worked with Stormy and we did a drunk driving PSA. It was really just a bunch of facts and a voiceover which we did about 3 or 4 times because Stormy couldn’t stop laughing. I enjoyed doing the PSA because it brought light onto drunk driving and Stormy was really fun to work with. I wanted to do drunk driving because it’s a serious problem that plagues many communities around the world and lots of people die from it everywhere so I figured that I would try and help end it. So back to Stormy, I worked with her because we had very similar ideas and figured whats the point of multiple drunk driving PSA’s so we worked together and made the project quite interesting to say the least. During the voiceover Stormy and I kept laughing and messing up in general. Stormy wanted to quit but I refused to let her and we got through it and finished. While we were recording I ended up going into a corner to keep Stormy from laughing at me (didn’t work if you were wondering). But yeah that’s basically it. The project was fun and I enjoyed it.
-Code (The Elevated One) Recently Mr. Holt had us make a Holiday Greeting, which was really easy. I ended up partnering with Gui who is a Freshmen (one of the lesser annoying ones). We wrote a script and filmed in the same day. Our greeting went like this.
Gui: This is BBNTV Me: I’m Cody Gui: And I’m Gui Both: And we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. So yeah, that was pretty cool. We had to bootleg the heck outta the recording room. We ended up moving a mic as close as we possibly could which meant moving a laptop onto the floor to actually store the audio. We didn’t even end up using the audio from that mic so it was kinda a waste of time. We did however use the greenscreen for a cool little Santa in the background. That’s basically the whole of the project so……….yeah. YEEET. -Code (TheElevatedOne) My video commercial was about The Elevated VPN (again…….). This time I actually recorded things rather than finding random pictures online and putting them in where they make sense. It wasn’t great in my opinion but it wasn’t absolutely horrible either. I’d say my commercial was mediocre at best. It was too cold to go with my original plan of shooting outside, which turned the rest into a metaphorical train wreck. It was fun though and I really enjoyed writing the script for it. The shoot itself could have gone much much better but I digress. The commercial was also meant to be 30 seconds and this time I hit the nail on the head. It was originally shorter but I added some different things to it that put it just where it needed to be. All in all it’s not my greatest work but it isn’t garbage. So yeah that’s my video commercial we’ve also done a lot of other things like L-Cuts and J-Cuts which I won’t blog about because there isn’t enough substance to blog about. We also did Parallel Action and Matched Action, which I may write about at sometime. Thanks for reading, this is Code signing out.
-Code (The Elevated One) So the first project i'll be blogging here is my radio commercial. During this project, I learned a lot of valuable information about audio and editing audio. My commercial was about a fake VPN that I named after my online persona The Elevated One so I named the VPN The Elevated VPN. The commercial was supposed to be 30 seconds but mine was actually like 29.5 seconds...shhhhhh. All in all, I had a lot of fun during this project. I was however a bit nervous during the part when we were recording the audio but that wasn’t too bad as my commercial was far from the cringiest even though I found room to have my favorite word, yeet, in it so that was neat. One thing everyone should know about me is that at this point in time 10/22/19 yeet is one of if not my favorite word so that is pretty cool I think. The commercial project didn’t really go that bad other than me just not being able to find great pictures. I may put it on the website sometime but I don’t know at this point in time. I may also put up a couple of other projects that I have on YouTube, which I may link to this website as well. They are just nifty little things I edited together on of which is parallel action the other being matched action. If you want to see them go to YouTube and look up Code_TheElevatedOne or you could go to the videos section and click that link. Thanks for reading this and goodbye until next time.
